VOLUNGE Editorial Policy and Review Standards

Last reviewed: September 17, 2026

VOLUNGE publishes practical dog dental-care content to help pet owners understand everyday oral-care routines, product use, warning signs, and questions to discuss with a veterinarian.

Who writes our content

Articles are prepared by the VOLUNGE Editorial Team. The team organizes consumer questions, product-label information, and guidance from recognized veterinary and professional sources. We do not present the editorial team as a veterinarian.

How content is reviewed

  1. Consumer relevance: We begin with the questions dog owners commonly ask about breath, plaque, brushing, dental powders, ingredients, and when to seek care.
  2. Source check: Health-related statements are compared with authoritative veterinary sources such as the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC).
  3. Product-claim check: Product descriptions, ingredients, serving directions, and package information are checked against the current VOLUNGE label. We avoid unsupported treatment or cure claims.
  4. Editorial review: Each article is checked for clarity, internal consistency, working links, and a clear distinction between general education and veterinary advice.
  5. Updates: Content is reviewed when product information changes, a cited source is updated, or readers identify a material error.

Veterinary guidance

Our articles provide general education only. They do not diagnose disease and do not replace an examination, professional dental cleaning, or treatment recommended by a licensed veterinarian. Sudden bad breath, pain, bleeding, facial swelling, difficulty eating, or other concerning changes should be discussed promptly with a veterinarian.

How we cite sources

Priority is given to primary or authoritative professional guidance. Key sources used across our dental-care library include:

Sources are selected for the specific claim being discussed. A source citation does not mean that the organization endorses VOLUNGE or any VOLUNGE product.

Corrections and questions

We correct material errors and update affected pages when reliable new information becomes available. To report a correction or ask about a source, please use our contact page and include the article URL and the statement in question.
